  • Navigating Life’s Final Journey

This book is a must read for all people who desire to have some control of their lives and those of their loved ones all the way through to the end of life. People are often lost in a medical maze when serious illness enters their lives. Pat sheds light on the dark pathways of that maze by sharing her knowledge gained through education and years of experience working as a nurse practitioner caring for seriously and terminally ill people. She shares tools available to help a person state clearly what is important to them and instruct their medical providers to make decisions based upon these goals. She writes from a place of hope and belief that all of life can be meaningful and lived ’Your way!’

  • Spirit n Creation

Our sojourns together began in the fall of 2023. We sat by lakes, rivers, and dams wrapped in outerwear and seeking the warmth of the autumn sun upon our faces. We perched our chairs on mountaintops and snow-covered riverbanks. We gave witness to the changing foliage, water, rocks, and clouds and then retreated to our cozy spots by the fire at an independent bookstore in Warner, NH. We wrote of our experiences in nature and in this most welcoming space, we stepped out in faith on this new journey together.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Marjorie A. Burke
Marjorie is a young octogenarian who approaches life with a sense of adventure and purpose. She was among the first women to graduate from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, and worked as a staff pharmacist at Children’s Hospital in Boston. She and her husband, Donald, lived in Lexington, MA where they raised their two sons. As national president of the Episcopal Church Women, she gave talks and lead workshops empowering women all over the world. She later served as chair of the Weare School District board, advocating for quality children’s education. Her life now is filled with writing, volunteering in the church and community, cooking and making jam, and soaking up the peace in her home.

Patricia O’Connor
Patricia is a retired nurse practitioner who has written throughout her life in order to slow down and feel the pulse of the world she inhabits. She spent over five decades in health care, much of that caring for people at or nearing the end-of-life. This has informed and inspired her appreciation of the preciousness of life. This appreciation and gratitude are woven into the fabric of her writing. She spends her ’’work’’ time teaching, leading retreats, story-telling, and writing. Her leisure time is spent enjoying New Hampshire from her kayak, her hiking shoes, or her perch by Little Lake Sunapee where she inspects boats to keep NH lakes free of invasive species. She takes delight in her children, their spouses and her grandchildren when she gets to spend time with them. She loves her life with her husband, Tom!
